Groups
Group rates are available on weekdays for groups of 20 or more who arrive together, stand in line as a group, and make a single payment at the time of the ride. Payment can be made by cash, check, or card.
Groups are able to book in advance on weekdays between 10am and 3pm. Groups join the same entry line as other passengers, and it is important to plan for a short wait of about 5 to 15 minutes. Many school groups visit during late May and early June, and wait times may be longer.
Payment is made in person at time of visit
We accept cash, check (payable to Swan Boats, Inc.) or credit card. We cannot accept purchase orders, advance payments, or invoicing prior to the visit.
This policy is in place for a few practical reasons:
- We are entirely weather-dependent. If we need to close due to rain or high winds, we notify group contacts by 8:00 am that morning.
- Group sizes often change on the day of the visit and paying on-site makes it easy to settle the exact count at the time of the ride.
- Swan Boats is a small, family-operated business with all our staff on the dock. On-site payment keeps things simple and accurate for everyone.
If your group is less than 20 people and you want to ride together on one Swan Boat, let the dock captain know and your group will be kept together.
The number of passengers on a Swan Boat is determined by weight and not the space available. Each boat can accommodate about 18 adults. For groups of small children, the boat can accommodate about 24 children with 4-6 chaperones.
